Description
Four planes landed on the ice covered lake here in Alton Bay. Have you ever seen such a scene. Snow and ice covered the big lake and yes plenty of open water to be found as well. You see there was a huge party for the fishermen to attend! It was our Ice Fishing Derby that hundreds of fishermen showed up for all across the state. Big prizes draw them in but it is also FUN to catch a fish through the ice and race it over to be weighed see you can't win if you don't enter! See you next winter! How often do you get to see Planes Sit On A Frozen Lake? This is the only Ice Runway in the lower 48 United States :) and it sits here in my state on a pretty day. Thanks so much Linda I know they have planes on floats here in summer but even I a native of NH was not expecting to see a FLY IN on the lake in winter .

In answer to your question - never! No snow around here - we've been sweltering in 35 to 45 degree celsius heat. Nice capture Eunice, the vibrant colors of the the planes and houses look great against the white snow and ice. L
